Chinese-Hungarian Cooperation in the Water Industry Phase 1: Improving water quality in Shenzhen using Organica Technology
Chemical engineer-biotechnologist by profession, István Kenyeres is the strategic and operative head of one of Hungary´s largest environmental technology private enterprises, the Organica Group, while also key driver of all research and development of the company. For 15 years, he was Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and is the owner of numerous internationally successful inventions. Mr. Kenyeres has over 30 years of professional experience in environmental protection, biotechnology and industrial ecology from R&D to industrial scale implementation. István Kenyeres is known for the development and international market roll-out of the wastewater treatment solution called the Organica Technology. Organica has founded a joint venture company in the city of Shenzhen, China in 2009 in order to designate an important role for the revolutionary Organica Technology in the ongoing reform of the Chinese water industry, in line with the strong cooperation of the two nations in the field of environmental protection. In 2005, the President of Hungary awarded Mr. Kenyeres the Silver Cross of Merit in recognition of his pioneering work in the development, reformation and the establishment of its Central-Eastern European leading role of the Hungarian environmental industry.

Graduated in 1989 at the College of Public Administration (today: Corvinus University of Budapest, Faculty of Public Administration) where he also completed his postgraduate studies in 1992. In 1999 he obtained PhD degree at the Faculty of Law of Janus Pannonius University of Pécs. In 2003 he passed the common professional examination in Law, and gained admission to Budapest Bar Association. He is a system organiser, lawyer and an expert in public administration. From 1990 to1995 he worked as a notary in local municipal administration, and from 1995 to 1998 he was active in central national administration. At the behest of Sándor Kenyeres he joined Mammut´s strategic management team as legal director, where he was in charge of laying the legal groundwork of Mammut II and, indirectly, Millenáris. Until 31 August, 2006 he was board member of Mammut Üzletház Zrt. From the second half of 2000 he worked as a programme director on the establishment and organisational and financing model of Talentis Programme. In 2006 he became CEO of Talentis Group´s parent company, Talentis Zrt. He makes use of his real estate development expertise mainly in legal, structural and financial areas.

Pursues studies in European Telecommunication Integration in Berlin, Germany and Game and Auction Theory at the London University UCL. CEO of E-Group between 2000-2006, then moves to Hong Kong to start the Asian operations of the company. Member of the presidium of the Hungarian Association of IT companies between 2005-2006.
